Who’s Who in Equine Welfare Book to be Published

Be in it – Basic Listings don’t cost a thing and the more people we get on board the thicker the volume – the more optimistic and hopeful the project becomes! Please, please, please share with your friends too. We’re collecting information to produce a physical volume featuring the Who’s Who within equine welfare and rescue. We want YOU to be included!

Why?

  • Let’s show the uncaring horse abusers how many of us there are who care!
  • Let’s be an organized force on the page!
  • Let’s be made into a physical book so someone with a casual interest can see immediately and feel the subliminal heft of our power!

Who’s Already in? These folks!

Here’s an effective and awesomely economical way to let the world and your customers and clients know for sure that you care. Ad space is available to YOU too! Here’s a video of the project pitch used in our IndieGoGo campaign:

Pledged Space Specs:

The book is slated to be published this fall using the online book publishing services through Amazon.com. The great thing about this is they will make our book available through all their regular outlets in a “Print on Demand” format. What this means is anyone with access to the Amazon.com store (and their many affiliates) will be able to have a book printed at a super reasonable rate using familiar services. Cool, no? It’s going to be offered at cost so the price can be as low as possible.
We’ll accept space reservations up until the moment we go to press! The print book will have a color cover and a (black and white) b/w interior (to keep costs low). You can provide a print-ready jpg or pdf in the size indicated and pay through PayPal.

Sample 1/8 page ad - 3.5" x 2.25"

As the Who’s Who in Equine Welfare book project takes shape I will be posting ads and includes so this thing starts becoming REAL for more and more people. Below is the first “In Memorium” ad to be composed for inclusion.

Compassionate horse lover, Sabrina Connaughton in Washington state recently lost an equine friend she rescued from a filthy living situation. His last few months on this earth were safe, warm and comfortable for this old soul. Though he was with her just a short while this old boy touched Sabrina’s heart deeply. She is commemorating his place in her life and her dedication to making the world a better place for horses with this 1/8 side ad (3.5″ x 2.25″)  to be in the book. You can also place such an ad by pledging just $10 towards the project.

I am a Herd Member of Blue Star Equiculture Draft Horse Scantuary and Organic Farm (aka BSE). Located in Palmer, Bondsville, MA at the joining of the Three Rivers: Ware River, Quaboag River to form the Chicopee River and is blessed with a Peace Pole placed by Chief Avoral in 2010. Until 12/2010 I never had much interaction with horses, but on the very first visit there I fell in love with a Belgium Draft named Mark. He was one of two Belgium Drafts pulling a hay wagon and he was afraid of the Alpcas that were there for a few hours. Mark and I sharred our unrational fears and we’ve been friends ever since.

In very short year I’ve learned so much about these wonderful horses. I’ve learned to drive a team of horses; how to groom a horse; and how to behave in a paddock with a herd; not to mention traveling to NYC to see how well the carriage horses there are taken care of. I’m part of a Fund Raising team where we’ve raised close to $1,000 for BSE to care for the horses. I design and create all the horsetail hair jewelry and designed the 2012 Blue Star Calendar where 100% of the purchase price goes to the care of the horses.

In my short association with BSE I have found out that horses are very funny, very scentative, love to met people, are very curious, and just full of love and knowledge. I only have one regrete and that’s that I live an hour away from BSE. I would love to be there more frequently, but I do need to work and earn a living so that I am able to help BSE as well as help rescue horses.
