Yvonne Allen~ A Voice For The Horse voiceforthehorse.com - Voice For The Horse Consulting is proud to take on this grassroots effort to help facilitate the change needed to improve the lives of many of our trusted equine companions that continue to serve and partner with us today.

Beads For Steeds by Kelly - Louisville, KY - www.etsy.com/shop/beadsforsteeds - Beads for Steeds is a for-profit venture that focuses on donating pieces of jewelry to various equine charities. I enjoy making original jewelry pieces that are inspired by the retired racehorses of Old Friends @ Dream Chase Farm in Georgetown, KY. I regularly create and donate jewelry sets to help raise money for these great retired athletes to help ensure that they maintain a safe and dignified retirement. I will routinely host a piece of jewelry in this Etsy shop that the proceeds will go to Old Friends equine rescue.

“I have loved horses for my entire life. I don’t have a horse personally, but I watch Standardbreds all year long and since I have taken care of them and love them, I care about what happens to them after the track. I don’t have a lot of money but I give what I can to the Standardbred Retirement Fund. I also help a horse santuary in New York called, Rosemary Farm. The couple takes in injured, sick, and forgotten horses from the area, from owner surrenders and from the kill brokers. So, even though I can’t do much financially I try to do what I can for the beautiful horses that are my heart and soul.”

The Italian Horse Protection Association is a sanctuary for equines who have been subjected to mistreatment and subsequently confiscated under Law No. 189 of 2004. Here the horses live in a herd, completely free in wide spaces, in much the same environment as they would find in the wild. Our principal aim is to help the animals to recover both physically and psychologically by creating conditions that promote their wellbeing and equilibrium. Other important objectives are to promote a better understanding of the ethological characteristics and particular needs of equine species, to promote new laws and to denounce abuses. The IHP is opposed to all forms of equine trade, to the use of equines in competitions, and more generally to any kind of treatment that does not respect their ethological characteristics and their dignity.
